How we teach
Our teaching concept is based on levels A1 – C2 of the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR). It allows you to build up your German language skills consistently and seamlessly from the very beginning.
Placement
Before the course begins, you complete our free placement test on your own (learning levels A1 – B2). This allows us to determine your language level and the right starting point in advance.
Chapter tests
Each chapter ends with a revision test — a learning-objective check for you and for us that helps to consolidate every stage of learning.
DSD certificate
On completing the course, you receive a DSD certificate documenting the scope, content and the level of language proficiency you have achieved.
Our methodology
Lively, communicative and multimedia-based — this is how our participants achieve fast and lasting progress.
Varied lessons promote the concentration and motivation of every individual participant. Different types of learners are addressed in different ways.
From the very first lesson, our participants are encouraged to express themselves in the new language. Through question-and-answer games and short, improvised role plays, they overcome their shyness very quickly. Their command of the language — vocabulary, idioms and expressions — is built up systematically along the way.
Multimedia teaching resources help participants acquire listening and speaking skills in a playful way. By using language software, audio and video, perception and the imitation of authentic language models are trained.
Regular assessments enable participants to acquire the finer points of German grammar seamlessly, which is taught through lively, engaging lessons.
The common thread running through our lessons is the CEFR-certified coursebooks from Schubert-Verlag Leipzig:
Plus our own DSD learning materials.
Qualified DaF teachers
Our language teachers hold a degree in German studies or in "German as a Foreign Language" (DaF) and bring a broad range of teaching experience with the most varied target groups.
