The School
Since 2006, people from all over the world have been learning German with us in the heart of Dresden's Neustadt district. What sets us apart is our attitude to learning — four principles shape every day of class.
Learning begins with well-being
Our school doesn't look like a typical school. The style and aesthetics of our rooms create a warm and comfortable atmosphere — for us, the prerequisite for a positive learning experience.
Communicative teaching means getting involved
With us, lessons are not consumed passively: our participants actively help shape them through dialogues, presentations and short talks. In this way, inhibitions about speaking are broken down from the very start and the ability to express oneself in German is built up.
The smaller the group, the greater the learning success
In the small groups at the DSD, every language student is challenged and supported equally. Individual attention for each course participant is our top priority.
Technology as a learning aid
The common thread running through our lessons is the CEFR-certified coursebooks from Schubert-Verlag (textbook and workbook, audio). This teaching foundation is perfectly complemented by interactive learning software — language lab, spelling, grammar tests — which our language students can also use after class.
